Best WAP with an E4200

Hi!

I'm thinking of upgrading to an E4200 router.  What would be the best wireless access point to use with that?

Re: Best WAP with an E4200

the E4200 is already a dual-band integrated wifi device - the wireless range ang signal strength is improved already. what are you gonna use an access point for? or are you referring to a wireless adapter instead?

Re: Best WAP with an E4200

Definitely as a WAP.

Currently have a WRT-600N downstairs next to the cable modem. Upstairs without a WAP, the signal is not the best.

Got a WAP4400N and it helps but there are still dead spots.

Just wondering if upgrading the router will help,  And maybe a new WAP.

a range expander would probably work to extend the wireless coverage of your network, but it only runs at B/G signal. it doesn't support wireless-N yet.

Re: Best WAP with an E4200

I spent a month working with the E4200 only to have to take it back to Best Buy.  They do not make or at least support a WAP that can be utilized as repeater.  Customer service was also slow also.

I tried to get support using a WAP4410N which is a great bridge or repeater device and consumer support told me I would have to call business support to make that work.  Wow, nice support.

I took E4200 back.  Bottom line the transmission is equal to the WRT350N that I have.  Secondly, dont make a big deal about the 5GHz.   It doesnt go through walls as good as the 2.4Ghz.
