VERY LONG POST INCOMING:

I have a linksys wap11 access point. i am reinstalling the device drivers after someone cleaned out the pc and removed them, however, whenever it comes to a specific driver (which coincidentally is not signed by msft), i get the blue screen of death. Running xp pro, and the troublesome filename is BridDFU (no extension). There is also a briddfu.ini file, which is displayed below:

Re: WAP11

I had the same problem when installing the utility in XP and 2000.  This is how I solved the problem:

  1. Unplug the WAP11 USB cable.
  2. Uninstall the WAP11 driver and configuration utility.
  3. Reinstall the WAP11 driver and configuration utility, DO NOT ALLOW WINDOWS TO RESTART.
  4. Plug in the WAP11 USB cable.
  5. Browse for the driver in the expanded driver directory (default is C:\WAP11).
  6. Run the “WAP11 USB Configuration Utility”

After the driver is installed in this manner, the device seems to work fine.  Good luck.

Re: WAP11

just copy the two driver files BridDfu.inf and BridDfu.sys from the windows2000 folder on the CD to your desktop. After that plug in your ap. When it asks specify your desktop as the driver location. For some reason doing it in the install or installing the driver from CD causes a problem. It's very strange.
