I've been using this access point for years and it has worked great. I have had to make some changes in the network and have set the security to WPA2 AES. I have some devices that need a key rather than a pass phrase. How can I figure out the key from the passphrase.

Hi,
I just "re-set" up my router because I did not have security set up on it.
Now, when I attempt to access it, at 191.168.1.245 I get....
"A username and password are being requested by http://192.168.1.245. The site says: "Linksys WAP54G""
No where, during the install process was I asked to set up a username. So, what the heck is my Username? I tried entering "admin", "Linksys WAP54G", "linksys", etc. None of them work.
I've also tried to gain access by entering, 192.168.1.1. , but all I can access to is my 8-Port router, that my wireless router is connected to.
Where/how do I get/find the username.
Thank you.
Mark

The username is left blank and password is admin. Thats what is was for mine anyway. If anyone is having issue's with getting to the login for the AP for a WAP54G, here are the steps I took to resolve the issue.
Reset the WAP by holding the reset button down while powering on the WAP and continue holding the reset for 10 seconds while it powers up. Once this is done, I connected a network cable from my PC to the WAP and set a static IP for my PC's network connection to 192.168.1.100, subnet of 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.1.245. Once my PC made a connection (two computers flashing at each other in lower righthand corner) I navigated to 192.168.1.245 using IE. This popped up the logon box. The default username leave blank and the password is admin. Configure the WAP how you want and when you are done, remember to set your PC back to DHCP if that is what you use or set it back to whatever static you were using before you changed it to 192.168.1.100. This was the only method that worked for me.
Hope this is helpful!

Hello,
I certainly hope someone can help me with this issue; I have read the other posts and none of them seem to correspond with my exact problem, so I will explain it briefly and hope that someone knows what I can do.
I did not have a WEP password (or any password for that matter) setup with my wireless network and chose to set it up tonight. A few hours ago, I finally downloaded the Setup for my Linksys Wireless G WAP54G (ver 3) and, when prompted within the setup (at the screen where it lists your information and asks you to hit "No" if you'd like it to remain and hit "Yes" if you want to make changes), I selected "Yes" and it allowed me to setup a network name and password. When I go to that same screen now, it says that my router is setup correctly with a name and WEP password.
However, I do not want a WEP password, as my latest virus scan (G Data Total Security 2012, which I downloaded only because it got the best reviews on PCWorld.com) has explained in detail that WEP passwords can be easily cracked within seconds by someone who has the correct tools, and the best method to go is with a WPA2/PSK password. So I tried to change from a WEP password to a WPA2/PSK password by selecting the "Yes" button within the Setup when they listed the information for my network. However, when prompted for the password to login [where they state that the default password is "admin"] - I tried "admin" and it did not work. I also tried the WEP PW that I setup for the network, and that did not work either. The WEP PW was the *ONLY* password that I had created throughout the entire setup process - the only other thing I created was the name of the network (which I tried, and unsurprisingly didn't work either). I did not create a passphrase - I ignored that step, which was an option, and only created the network name and WEP password. I never even saw the option to change the default "admin" password to something else.
Can someone please tell me why the password is no longer "admin" despite the fact that I never changed it from "admin", and further, what the password would be now? Or how I can go about figuring out what the password would be? I would sincerely appreciate anyone's help in resolving this matter.

1) Make sure you leave the login name blank
2) Make sure that your Caps Lock key is off
If this does not resolve the default login password of 'admin', then something is wrong with your device. You should reset it to factory defaults and start over (use a paper clip to hold down the rear reset button for 10 sec; the front-panel green light will go out, and then come back on.)
