I've done the hard reset etc and re-setup AP. Problem with dropping connection remains.

Have you tried checking the gateway's wireless settings or to check if the drivers of the laptop's wireless adapter have been updated?

Okay i have a hotel and have 5 x WAP610 they used to work fine with the 1.0.2 firmware, some small issues, but with 1.0.4 the range has significantly reduced, but most of all I-pad and i-phones have major issues with the connection points, to be honest i think the issue is more to do with apple using cheap components, as i never have and issue with my laptop or nokia phone, never the less i still need these inferior apple products to work with my network.
Can you Cisco / links please sort this out, as i have a netgear router and this doesn't have issues connecting to anything beginning with 'i'

The firmware 1.0.04 build 7 is supposedly the fix for this issue. I doublechecked the website as well:
Firmware 1.0.04 (Build 007)
- Resolved interoperability/connection issue with some mobile devices.
Try to update the software of your Apple devices and see if that will resolve your issue.

Please read the post first before replying, firmware 1.0.4 made thing WORSE, all it did was fix issues with 1.0.3 which just didn't work period.
As i don't own any apple devices and it is my guests that do, it is not something that i can start telling every guest with an i-poo, secondly even with there devices fully updated this is still a problem. Also people with apples always assume they are the best thing since sliced bread so you have to be careful about you say about their precious i-poo
to give you an idea what one guest who was here long term resulted to doing
not willign to acccept that his device was the problem i ended up showing the gentleman where theclosest access point was, and that he could simply reset it by restarting it at the wall, to give you an idea of just how many problem he was having with it, one day he restarted it 6 times, every half an hour it dropped his device and he couldn't connect.
at the same time my laptop could instantly connect no problems as could my nokia phone, and they would stay connected, no drop off.

With the latest firmware, it should resolve the problem. I can suggest resetting and reconfiguring the access point.

Again if you had fully read the post you would have seen that one of my guest was reseting the access point every 30 minutes, as for reconfiguring each access point is setup so that its frequency does not cross over another access point, providing seemless access through out the hotel.
If you look on post around the internet you will find this is still an issue with your new firmware. May i suggest that you go back and look at both the i-pad and i-phones to see why they inparticular are the first device to always have and issue, and get back to apple direct to report their defective products. Then look at your firmware to see what you can do to overcome thoses defects.
