Wrong Firmware

Hi.

I maded a mistake upgrading my WAP54G 2.0 firmware. I've updated the firmware to WAP54G 3.0. Now my access point is not accessible and it's not working anymore. How can I update it again with the right firmware?.

Thanks.

Re: Wrong Firmware

According to the firmware info of WAP54G v2 and v3, it seems the file is the same. Have you tried resetting the access point and try to access it again? What IP are you using to access the WAP?

Yes, but I can't connect to it. I'm trying to run the setup wizard but it doesn't detect the access point anymore.

Where do you have the access point connected? What devices are on your network? How do you have them connected?

Re: Wrong Firmware

All is connected through a 10/100 switch, I've a router connected to a DSL modem, and the router is connected to the switch, I've unplugged it to see if it works but still not working. The problem begun when I updated the firmware.

Thanks.

Re: Wrong Firmware

And you are using the setup CD on a computer connected to the switch, right? What is the IP of your computer?

Re: Wrong Firmware

Right. If the DSL router is connected to the HUB my IP is: 192.168.254.7. If I disconnect the DSL router I don't get any IP and I need to configure it manually.

Okay. Since you had to reset the access point, the IP is back to its default of 192.168.1.245. As you can see, the IP range is different. This is the reason why the setup CD cannot detect the access point. What I will suggest is connect a PC directly to the WAP's lan port then set a static IP of 192.168.1.10 on the PC then run the setup CD again. Make sure to change the IP of the WAP so that it will be on the same range as that of your router. Once done, you can connect the PC back to the switch and put the IP back to automatic.
