i have two access points in two relative close buildings im looking to repaeat the signal with a high gain omni directional antenna and was wondering what end should the antenna go on the recieving or transmitting end? do i need one on each end?

If the distance between your both the Building are not far from each other then i think 1 antenna will solve your purpose or else you need to get another antenna for your another WAP.
