[Feature Request] Please add support for OpenDNS in WAG320N

It would be very useful if you would add OpenDNS. It filters harmful content and keeps track of dynamic IP all in one service.

it does not have that feature maybe because this is only a SOHO (small-office/home-office) router. usually, users who do hosting or remote access to router get static IP's from their ISP.

All you have to do is to enter the DNS server addresses into the DHCP server of the WAG. See instructions: https://store.opendns.com/setup/device/linksys

@kawal

it already has support for DynDNS and TZO.COM so I figured OpenDNS wouldn't be that hard to implement.

@gv

I was aware of that before making this request. The point is that it would be nice to have the OpenDNS customizations and stats for all my network without having to install the Updater Client on all computers...

Re: [Feature Request] Please add support for OpenDNS in WAG320N

another problem is that I can't use OpenDNS FamilyShield, because it only has 2 DNS IPs and WAG320N fills in the 3rd DNS automatically therefore defeating the filtering purpose.

You can use any of these 4 IP Addresses for OpenDNS

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

208.67.222.220

208.67.220.222

Then your router will perform as expected with OpenDNS

I too would like to see support for OpenDNS.  The web filtering options and other advanced features, like botnet & phishing protection, are unlikely to work without the dynamic IP updates.

sad to see such a simple thing doesn't get implemented. with so much other problems (stability and content filtering) I've been having with this router I'll be sure to stay away from Linksys next time.
