WAG120N constantly disconnecting [ Edited ]

I got my WAG120N like 5 months back. Last night it started to disconnect randomly like at 5 - 10minute intervals.... 

The connection to the internet connects and then disconnects within 5 seconds. I've tried resetting, firmware upgrading, restoring settings and all that with no success. (I'm referring to the wired connection used for my PC and not WiFi)

Hi! have you tried calling your internet/dsl provider and measure the dsl quality and check if the line is ok? You can also check with them which dsl modulation to use to get the best dsl signal quality and then you can change the DSL settings.

As you are facing frequent disconnections through the gateway, I would suggest you to change the MTU size on the gateway to 1400. Also try to connect a computer directly to the modem to check whether you are getting a stable connection through it.

what do u mean directly connected? It is already connected through the Ethernet cable to my computer

ok i managed to solve it .... (at least at the moment i am not being disconnected)

I changed the MTU to 1400 and also i changed the DSL Modulation to ADSL2+...(it was MULTIMODE earlier). i'm guessing there was too much attenuation in the line or something like that.
