WAG160N Wrong system time and no internet connection DSL problems

Hi all,

I have some serious problems with my WAG160Nv2 Annex B router with firmware V2.00.20.

The configuration is configured with the setting that Linksys provided for Wanadoo - KPN.

The setting are:

Incapsulation: RFC 2364 PPPoA
Multiplexing: VC
Autodetect: Disable
Virtueel Circuit  VPI: 8
Virtueel Circuit VCI: 48
DSL Module: Multimode

MTU: Auto

The local LAN settings are default as provides bij linksys. So I still use 192.168.1.1

When I connect, i receive from DHCP server from the provider an ip, gateway and dns adress from the provide and the DSL led start burning green.

BUT i have the next problems:

1. Wrong system time

2. Looks like the cablemodem drops the connection al the time.

3. Cant ping any ip adres not from the computer and also not from the diagnostic tab in the

router. SO I cant solve any ip adress and have no internet connections. For example it tried to ping www.google.nl but i recieve timeouts.

Whats going wrong, cany anone help me ?

Re: WAG160N Wrong system time and no internet connection DSL problems

I think you can try these settings:

Encapsulation : RFC 1483 PPPoE

Multiplexing: LLC

Autodetect: Disable

Virtual Circuit  VPI: 8

Virtual Circuit  VPI: 35

DSL Module: Multimode

MTU: Auto

And also get the username and password for PPPoE  from ISP.

And see if that helps you?

If that doesn't helps you than get the settings from your ISP verified.

Hi Mr President :smileywink:,

I have the exact same issue with my brand new WAG160N ... were you able to solve the issue with yours?

Any tips you can give me? Would be really helpful & appreciated!

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Koen

Re: WAG160N Wrong system time and no internet connection DSL problems

Same problem of  "wrong time" and I own the v1 version. I think it's normal. After a few seconds, the wag160n sends a NTP request to ntp.nasa.gov and synchronises its time.

There is a gap during which the clock is 2000-01-01 01:00:00
