Just another person to say that I downgraded to V2.00.17 and immediately my internet speed increased by a factor of FOUR. I didn't even do a full power-off.
The idea with firmware releases is newer ones are supposed to INCREASE performance. I got the .20 version with the modem out of the box. If it's not good enough, it should not be sold to the average punter in that condition.

And yes RAFAL is right! Downgrade to 1.00.17 and everything is fine!!!!!
THANKS RAFAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi
I've had a similar problem with the WAG160N v1 (Annex A) for the last couple of weeks. Download speed with Ethernet is 4.5mbps, but wireless is only 0.5mbps - clearly a problem with the wireless functionality.
I've tried to fix by updating the firmwire to v 1.00.16, resetting the router and tinkered with a few channel settings etc but nothing seems to solve the problem.
Can anyone help?....... or should I just ditch Linksys and buy a more reliable wireless router?
Thanks

Try to do the follows steps with the router.
# Open up the browser and on the address bar type 192.168.1.1 that will open up the Gateway setup page.
# Lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) from 1500 to 1400 or less (usually found on your routers main/ basic setup page). Here is the link for determining and setting up the correct MTU size: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=
# Then click on Security tab disable SPI Firewall Protection, uncheck Filter Anonymous Internet Requests...
Then check the connectivity status..

Hi,
I recently purchased the WAG160N with 2.00.20 and also having my DOWN capped to below 2 MB/s on a 17 MB/s DOWN line.
I can't seem to get that link to work to download the 2.00.17 firmware, and for some reason Tech Support don't archive their previous firmware, so they don't have a link.
Can someone else put a link up that works? Tried the previous on both IE and Firefox.
Thanks
