WAG200G Firmware

Hi Forum,

i want to update my old Linksys WAG200G firmware but i see that on the page:

http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-eu/support/gateways/WAG200G

on the Downloads tab it lists:

Ver.1.01.09 at the top with full notes, and then further down it lists Ver.1.2 with no notes. Which do i use?

Re: WAG200G Firmware

Common reasons for updating firmware include fixing bugs or adding features to the device. If you really don’t have issue with this, it’s really not necessary to update the firmware.

Re: WAG200G Firmware

Since you are using annex A then you need to use Ver.1.01.09 (ETSI) (Annex A). Don’t use Ver.1.2 because that is just the setup wizard.

Re: WAG200G Firmware

Once done with the firmware upgrade the settings will still be the retained. Unless you will do a hard reset on the router itself, the settings then will be back to the default settings. It is recommended that after every upgrade, a reset should be done. But it’s going to be up to you if you want to proceed with the reset or not. You may the leave the settings as is but if you start to have connection problems, proceed with resetting the modem then reconfigure the settings.
