WAG320N - LAN cleints cannot ping WLAN clients.

Hi All,

Wonder if you can help. I currently have a WAG320N router that seems to be working apart for one little problem.

The problem i'm facing however is that my LAN clients cannot ping my wireless clients and vice versa.

I have googled this issue which has recommended that AP isolation is turned off which is was by default.

Any other ideas?

Thanking in advanced,

Sprite

Re: WAG320N - LAN cleints cannot ping WLAN clients.

LAN clients are running Windows 7 NOT in a home group with firewalls off.

WLAN Clients are running XP/Ubuntu again with firewalls turned off.

Re: WAG320N - LAN cleints cannot ping WLAN clients.

As you are not able to ping the wireless clients from wired clients . Enable the AP Isolation .

See if that helps you .

Re: WAG320N - LAN cleints cannot ping WLAN clients.

Had the same issue with a first time use of a Linksys WAG320N that I purchased today, there is an issue with the factory default settings not being in sync with the configuration pages.

  1. Login to Router
  2. Click Wireless
  3. Click Advanced Wireless Settings
  4. Enable "AP Isolation"
  5. Save Settings
  6. Wait 20 seconds
  7. Disable "AP Isolation"
  8. Save Settings
  9. Wait 20 seconds
  10. Power off Router
  11. Wait 10 seconds
  12. Power back on - AP Isolation should be turned off correctly now.

Hope that helps.

Re: WAG320N - LAN cleints cannot ping WLAN clients.

Press the reset button for 30 seconds.

then on a computer that is wired to the WAG320N, open internet explorer and type http://192.168.1.1 leave the username blank and type admin on the password. you would have access then.
