WAG320N with bad wireless range upstairs, want to boost it with AP/repeater

I have a wag320n that works good on ground level, but the modem is standing in mt technical closet where i think is a lot of 'interference' that degrades the wireless signal. So upstairs i am alos working with a wireless...kind of tv server that has a very poor signal from my wag320n. I want to boost that up a bit by using a wap54g on the attic. But i cannot get it to work....it only gives a a wireless signal from my wag320n.

what am i doing wrong....

wag320n is standard

wap54G has DD-wrt software installed

Re: WAG320N with bad wireless range upstairs, want to boost it with AP/repeater

Hi,

First up, cisco wireless-G access point is not going to work with a wireless-N router, as these wireless-N devices are standalone devices and do not support devices like WAP54G, also, WAP54G only works with WRT54G in a repeater mode, as per documentation.....

However, you can try to set up your WAG320N with Wireless Network Mode as "BG-Mixed" and then your wireless-N router(ADSL Gateway) will work as a wireless-G router....

Try to keep your WAG320N with soem free space and out of the closet, that will improve.....
