WAG54G Remote Access

Recently upgraded to 1.00.17 and have found that remote access no longer works. When I try to connect I get redirected to a search page. Does anyone have a copy of the 1.00.00 firmware as I would like to reload it to prove that the firmware is at fault rather than my config. Thanks.

Re: WAG54G Remote Access

After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the Gateway to factory defaults, then setup the Gateway again from scratch.  If you have not done this since your last firmware upgrade, please do this now and see if it corrects your problem.  If you saved a Gateway configuration file, DO NOT use it.

To reset the Gateway press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your Gateway, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your Gateway...See if Remote Access works...

Also make sure 'Block Anonymous Internet Requests' is unchecked under the Security tab...

Re: WAG54G Remote Access

Did a factory reset and made sure that the 'Block Anonymous Internet Requests' was unchecked. Router offers up the login details but then routes me to a Linksys / Yahoo page.

I have ftp and http port forwarding for other things setup and they work fine. It only seems to be when I try to https on to mange the router.

Re: WAG54G Remote Access

Looks like they have managed to write this bug in to more than one piece of firmware then.

The above post is the same issue I am having with the Wag160n.

I downgraded it to v1.00.10 and the problem disappears, bump it up to v1.00.15 and he presto it is taking me to a search page if I try and use a dynamic dns name to resolve the remote admin. if you use i.p. it gets you in to the admin pages remotely.

Re: WAG54G Remote Access

Thanks a lot you're right. It re-routes when using dyndns but allows access if the IP is used. My ISP will let me have a static IP for free so think I'll do that and drop dyndns.
