Re: accessing router default password admin admin ?

What is your devices' model number? Default usually is to leave username blank and type admin as password.

Its an X3000 ....when ever i type in default pass word the box flashes back up....i do it again ie admin admin and the its a 401 unauthorised access page comes up. Three times i do this through the wee windows security box then finally as follows.

401 Unauthorized
Authorization required.

Re: accessing router default password admin admin ?

Best is to start clean. Reset the router then reconfigure. That will revert the password to default(leave username blank, then type admin as password). Try it one more time and post back if you still encounter the issue.

Re: accessing router default password admin admin ?

Well re installed with less haste....turns out during the installation process the router designates own name and password.

You have to delete this and replace ( if you want) with the supposedly default ....admin...admin.

This was the issue...thanks for the help.
