How to find out external IP address of my WVC54GCA

My provider changed the IP address so I have no access from outside of my network.

I know, I'll have to use DynDNS and I will, but now I ned the IP address and I'm not able to find it out.

Any tipp?

Hi there. Are you trying to look for the ip address of your camera? If so, you can access your router's userinterface and check the DHCP Client Table and you will get it from there not unless you set a specific ip address already on the camera and it will not be displayed or be part of the list. You can check it also on the camera utility that you have installed on your computer.

And if you mean by accessing this camera over the internet or remotely (meaning on a different network or location), an alternate web access port should have been enabled already on the camera and should have been port forwarded already on the router so that you can view the camera over the internet. Usually it goes like http://publiciport (example: http://98.24.12.1:1024) and then it will route you to a browser and from there you can make changes and view the video over the internet. So, if you sign up for an account with DynDNS.org then it will give you a specific url to view this camera on a different location.

OK, I try to reply as following (excuse my bad english):

- An alternate web access port isalready enabled on the camera and it's port forwarded on the router. I had access from everywhere before my provider changed the IP.

- I use DynDNS, but only for one Computer (with the tool "Dyn Updater"). My goal is to use the cam as a second device with DynDNS, but I guess I need the external IP first...

- DHCP is activated. Not on the router but on my WIN 2003 Server. I can't find the cam there (under the DHCP section), only my Computers and Printers.

- Also, I can't find the external IP of the cam within the Software or the Webinterface, only the internal (192.168.1.31). The external was 81.74.63.39:1031 before the IP change of my provider. Now I have 77.57.184... I tried different IP scanners, but they all only show the internal IP.

Hmmm, do I have to install the cam again or just run the setup?

if the alternate web access port and the local ip address of your camera did not change, you need not change any setting on your camera or have a need to set it up.

all you need to do is know your external ip address ; this can be done simply by going to a website like "whatismyipaddress.com"; to know what it is.

then access your camera by typing that ip address plus the alternate web access port, ex: ipaddress:alternateport; 202.38.x.x:1032

I forgot to say that I tried that already. Because it did not work I thought it must be another reason.

I can access in my internal network with 192.168.1.13:1031. I can't access from outside with 77.57.184.XXX:1031.

forward only port 1031 to the ip address 192.168.1.13, disable the other ports forwarded to the camera.

Okay, I deleted the 3 other port forwardings, with no success...

to check your WAN ip go to http://whatsmyip.com/ or network-tools.com, make sure to uncheck block/filter annonymous internet request on your router because you will not be able to ping your wan ip if that is checked or enabled.

I checked my IP address, it's the same as Dyn Updater and my Router show.

Also, I can ping it from my office (from external).

The only block/filter adjustments I found on my router are shown on the picture.

All other filters are unchecked.
