Hi, I've seen your offer to help mac users with their wvc80n cameras and thought I'd ask your help. I have two macs and would like to buy the camera, but I've seen conflicting information about how and if they work with macs. I understand they have mac setup software but no camera utility, which I understand is used to monitor the camera. I've also read something about using Firefox to view the camera, In any case, how do you view the camera on your mac? Also, how do you monitor the camera when away from home? I had thought about using remote control software. I appreciate your help and any other advice you can offer.

Are MAC users getting the infamous error about "unsupported platform/OS" ??
That is one feature I'm looking to disable in the open-sourced camera firmware.
Not sure why Linksys/Cisco feel the need to build-in limitations like that?
In general with the latest wvc80n firmware you can use the web browser to open the motion-jpeg directly, but sometimes the camera rejects the web-browser based on the http USER-AGENT string in the browsers connection setup.
Some browsers allow the user to modify that USER-AGENT to circumvent silly issues like that.
Anyhow, might try browsing the the camera with "/img/video.mjpeg"

Where in Airport Extreme do I setup Port Forwarding so that I can see my new Cisco WVC80N remotely? I worked several hours today with live chat but was finally told to check with Apple on port forwarding.

I am trying hard to set up the same camera on my apple network. The router is positioned directly into the telephone line and connects via ethernet cable into an apple airport unit. My mac computer is about 30 feet away. My router has only one ethernet port. I have tried to identity the IP address using the airport utility.manual setup.advanced.logging & SNMP.Logs and Statistic.DHCP CLients but nothing show up with my MAc address from the back of the camera. If you could email your instructions, it might be a big help. Or perhaps you have some other thoughts. Thanks for any help you can lend.
