Hello,

My vehicle has been broken into and I need a camera that can have night vision.

I currently own a WAG54G wireless ADSL router and I want to buy a WVC200 wireless camera. However, if the camera is placed in an entirely dark area apart from ambient light from the moon can it see? If it can could someone please post up a capture from the camera in night vision mode? I assume it comes up black and white?

And also the picture captures seem very small is this correct? Could someone please post some pictures of the biggest picture you can take?

And with the video capture can I set the camera to record video footage if it senses any movement?

I am also confused about the subscription you get with the box, if I don't renew the subscription can the camera still send videos to my computer and take photos?

Thanks a lot any information is appreciated.

Apparently the WVC can "see" infrared. So if you get some IR "leds" you should be able illuminate the area around our car without the bad guys seeing anything!

The motion detection creates a video which can be 640x480 which is quite nice sized. Usually a 5-second video (the longest one you can take) uses up about 1MB of filespace once sent to your email server as an attachment.

I haven't yet figured out why there is such a thing as Sololink. Anyway I have been using DynDNS (an option which shows in the DDNS configuration page) and it seems to work fine. Perhaps somebody can tell us what, if anything, the paid subscription to Sololink gives us which a free account at DynDNS does not...

Re: WVC200

WVC200 does, if you have an IR spot

Re: WVC200

WVC2300 which started to ship last week This camera has an IR filter switcher, this means it can be turned on and off (by schedule). This means that you'll be able to use the IR lamp at night to see in complete darkness. The lens is also interchangeable CS mount lens (1/3"), this will give you the option to use either wide angle or zoom lens.

You can get IR lamp from places like Fry's Electronics or online www.scdlink.com

The camera will support 850nm IR.
