My WVC80N lists it's firmware as "v1.0.00 build 08". The support site lists the latest firmware as "Ver.1.0.08". Are these in fact the same firmware? In the release notes for "Ver.1.0.08" it says...
Cisco Consumer Business Group
Product: WVC80N v1
Classification: Firmware Release History
Firmware Date: Aug 14, 2009
Last Firmware Version: 1.0.08
Firmware 1.0.00 (build 08)
- Initial release
...which is also confusing. Instead of saying "Last Firmware Version:" shouldn't it say "LATEST Firmware Version? "Last" version sounds to me the same as saying "The version BEFORE the current one". Can anyone clear all this up for me please?

Well Firmware version 1.0.08 is an Initial Release firmware for the Camera. The last 08 is a build 8 Firmware. And on your Camera setup page also it will display you the same thing, Firmware Version 1.0.00 Build 08.
The Last Firmware Version : I think 08 should be mentioned as build 08.

The tech I spoke to at Linksys claimed that v1.0.00 (build 08) and 1.0.08 are not the same, but my camera won't update to 1.0.08. The support staff at Linksys seem to be completely clueless!
Linksys has the absolute worst support.

i own a E4200 Cisco Router and bought the WVC80N Cisco Home Monitoring Cam
i set everything up fine including the wireless capability
i then notice that there is a FW upgrade available for the camera:
Download 3.41 MB
i go though the upgrade process and after it reaches 100%, a pop-up window says camera restarting and to wait before continuing (there is also a textbox labelled "OK" which i can click)
well, guess what.....the camera never restarts! i have tried many solutions:
a) don't click "OK" and wait for camera to restart
b) click "OK" and wait for camera to restart
c) go through this entire process with the camera hooked up wirelessly
d) go through this entire process with the camera wired to my router
e) refresh the web browser GUI
f) click APPLY on that browser page
g) pull the power cord on the camera, wait >30secs plug it back in...
how hard does it need to be to do a simple FW upgrade using Cisco's own browser GUI?
Any suggestions to resolve this? Thanks!
