Re: Cisco Connect Cloud multiple unexpected errors

as far as you know, are you the only one experiencing that problem with that type of router(E4200 v2)? Because if not then this could be a firmware issue.

Re: Cisco Connect Cloud multiple unexpected errors

yes, as far I as I know I'm the only one but the firmware was released this week and i haven't done a reset. Don't want to loose my settings I worked so hard to setup.

also yesterday out of nowhere i lost my internet connection and the router cisco light started blinking and then it sort of rebooted itself and the blinking stopped and the internet came back on. all this happened in a 5 minute span. If this becomes a regular thing I'll revert back to the rock solid classic firmware.

Hi! For your case, I believe a reset is needed. Same thing before you did the update on your previous post , save the configuration first and then just reload it.

I tried that and I learned a few things. I get the error still if i do exactly that...and the old firmware config file is not compatible...took me 2 tries to do it right under the new firmware.

Anyways...no errors if i just do a config reset and try to access media prioritization. once i did the config restore the error comes back.

so now i have to figure out a way to see my whole for ip addresses so i can just reset and then copy it all manually. sucks to have to do this. guess i could try what i just did tomorrow morning when the wife is not around but this time disable media prioritization in the old firmware and then do the upgrade. should have thought of that before lol.

come on CISCO, fix it! that would be ideal. i am surprised people have not reported this problem more.

Are you still experiencing this problem by using another browser or another computer?

Web browwser or computer don't matter. LikE I said if you reset the firmware and start from scratch it works fine.

Re: Cisco Connect Cloud multiple unexpected errors

are you running Ver.2.1.38.138880, the latest Cisco Connect Cloud firmware? a RESET is always required after an update/ upgrade. it does seem like an inconvenience, as in your case, when you have to manually reconfigure the device.

Re: Cisco Connect Cloud multiple unexpected errors

found a solution this morning.

downgrade to old firmware, reset, reloaded my saved config from before i ever upgraded at all and so i was back to normal.

then I went into QOS and deleted my pc(took several tries to remove it, kept coming back after a save) and changed settings back to default on just that section.

upgraded to new firmware and everything works fine. so the problem is an imcopatability with QOS between firmwares.

You're not the only one... My router is new (an EA4500) which was only minimally/briefly configured prior to the CCC firmware upgrade. After the CCC firmware upgrade (I've checked, I'm on the latest), I configured the device with QoS and etc. Since then, I've tried to setup secured folder access and continually run into the 2123 (and others such as 2118) "unexpected errors". Further, at times the software will indicate that there is a 'new' way to setup shares and to either Continue (to wipe out the existing settings and use the new) or Cancel (to keep the settings). Either path doesn't yield anticipated results and result in continue unexpected errors -- and yes, some settings related to users and shares disappear when heading down the 'Continue' path.

I've reset the router (via Troubleshooting, then diagnostics, then reset). I manually reconfigured what I had before (slightly less config like skipping a few IP reservations) and skipped my QoS settings. USB secured folder access behaves the same; unexpected errors. Since then, I've gone back to my backed-up config.

Any thoughts?

All I can say so far (after 2+ weeks of owning the device), I'm thoroughly unimpressed.

Re: Cisco Connect Cloud multiple unexpected errors

Try to reflash the firmware and reconfigure your router settings especially the USB storage part. That is one way of isolating the issue you are having. Try to disable the firewall on your computer and check if it will make a difference.
