Re: Cisco Connect Express app

Recently I was contacted by a representative with Cisco about the Connect Express App.  It was said they are working on translation of the app to work with the iTunes Canada store, what ever that means but perhaps it is for both primary languages of Canada?

Re: Cisco Connect Express app

I too purchased based on the availability to download the connect express app from the Canadian itunes store. The box clearly states it is available in both official languages. Perhaps a complaint to competitionbureau.gc.ca will correct the packaging.

Re: Cisco Connect Express app

I joined this forum just to add a ME TOO to this thread.  Clearly on the CANADIAN box it says APP ENABLED.  Quit with the false advertising or get the app to iTunes Canada, please.

Re: Cisco Connect Express app

I agree if they don't have it available by months end I will file a formal complaint with Canadian Competition Bureau. This is clearly false advertising and the product should be pulled off the shelfs until Cisco corrects this issue.

Re: Cisco Connect Express app

Still not available to Canadian. In the description of the App, it says :

  • Free
  • Category: Utilities
  • Updated: Apr 12, 2012
  • Version: 1.2
  • Size: 1.7 MB
  • Languages: English, French

Now that it's translated to french, it should be available to Canadian. I just bought the EA3500 for 99.99$ at The Source yesterday. This special will go on until May 9th 2012. I haven't unpacked it yet, should I wait for the App to be available? My trusty WRT54G still works well.

Re: Cisco Connect Express app

I created an iTune account US and got the app.

Here's what I did :

  • Logout from the App Store in iTunes.
  • Go there : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id470936137 --> View in iTunes
  • Created a new account.
  • In the credit card section choose "None".
  • I used a store's in NY as my billing adress.
  • Fill in the rest of the informations.
  • Verify the account.
  • On your iPhone/iPad, Settings --> App Store --> Sign out --> Log in an existing account.
  • Type in your new account user id and password.
  • Download the App.
  • Voilà!!

I hope I helped someone.

Re: Cisco Connect Express app

Quick question, next create an iTunes Canadian store account also provided you don't have one - switch to the Canadian store account, add any apps you want and then please tell me what happens? is the Cisco Connect Express available and installable?

Re: Cisco Connect Express app

@ErinPeriera : It's just a workaround until the App is available to Canadian.

The App is not a big deal, considering I didn't use the Cisco Connect software to setup my router, I needed more personalized options. I preferred the manual setup which is almost the same as my old WRT54G.

Yesterday I used "Live Chat" to tell Cisco about the problem, they told me they don't have a specific date so I asked them to send me an email when they know. I'll post the date when I have it.

[ Edited ]

@wesley69 : You have to be in the USA store to be able to install the App. I already had a Canadian Account before. Right after installing the Cisco Connect, before even running the App for the first time, I switched back to the Canadian Store and the Cisco Connect App worked perfectly.

I just installed an App, I will try the Cisco Connect Express when I get home and repost.
