Trying to re-install Cisco Connect

I am nearly 100% technologically incompetent and was having trouble connect my PS3 to its network. To make a long story short my Linksys E1000 was reset and the Help menu instructed me to uninstall Cisco Connect. When I attempt to reinstall the program using the software it instructs me to connect my wireless router to the motem...blah blah blah...and then begins searching for the wireless router. I have the internet connection, the username and password are still the same, I simply would like some one to help me get the Cisco Connect program back.

Re: Trying to re-install Cisco Connect

so you manually configured your router and then re-installed Cisco Connect?

you can download the latest version of Cisco Connect from the support page: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/E1000. this version allows to get back in sync if changes were made in the Web GUI (router setup page).

Re: Trying to re-install Cisco Connect

First of all here are the steps for the physical connectivity for the router:

  • The router’s power adapter needs to be plugged to your router and into an available power outlet.

  • If using a wired connection, the first Ethernet cable needs to be plugged to the computer’s LAN port into any of the router’s blue numbered Ethernet ports.

  • The second Ethernet cable should be plugged to the modem’s Internet port and the other end into the router’s yellow Internet port.

  • Ensure that you have no firewall enabled that may prevent the router from being detected.

Here is the link which will guide you on how to configure the wireless security settings of your Linksys Wireless-N Router using Cisco Connect: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=16bf18ddbe814e1dbfef13d3e97ba662_Configuring_the_W...
