DNLA interoperability

I use Windows 7 and synch to my Media hub my Photos, Music and Video ( I have about 200 albums, 200 files of pictures and about 50 videos). I try and access my data over my Wifi  network, it will only show me about 6 music albums, when I view the mediahib in Windows Explorer (WE).

When I view in WE at root I get 2 shares folders, a back up & a media. In media I get a a list of about 10 folders including Music and music (lower case "M"), the duplication was not user generated, I think it is automatic. Either way I don't have a separate file with only 6 music albums in although my Xbox and IPad can only see these and not the remaining albums or pics / video.

Any body know what is happening here?

Re: DNLA interoperability

Perhaps this has something to do with how you were able to back your files into your media hub as well as upon the file transfer itself. Did you back it up manually or did you use any of the softwares?...since you're talking about media files then perhaps you can give the media importer tool a try.

Re: DNLA interoperability

I am using Synctoy to sync the file between my pc and my MediaHub. What is the media import tool, would this make the pictiures, music and video visable from my XBOX rather then just a very small subset?

Re: DNLA interoperability

Hi,

The media import tool is a software that automatically imports/copy the media files (pictures, music and videos) from your computer to the media hub. And NO, it does not make the media files automatically visible to your XBOX. But note that once the media files are already imported to the media hub, your XBOX should be able to view the files already granted that its configured properly.

If you want to know more about how it works, please check this site.

Re: DNLA interoperability

Thank you,

Sorry if I have misunderstood. Currently I have the files transfered to the media hub via Synctoy and they are not fully  visible(only a restricted few). If I use Media Inport Tool instead of Synctoy  will this change.

Re: DNLA interoperability

Linksys Media Importer tool installs and automatically activates if you were using the installer to setup the device. This tool automatically imports the media files that it supports to the mediahub and it goes to the Media> Import folders. Perhaps, thats the reason why the files were duplicated.
