Trying to get files onto my mediahub

I have a 410 that I have 2 2TB EARS drives in a RAID configuration.. I  had no problems getting the first 1.6 TB of files on the thing other then the odd timeout.. But of late I've had nothing but problems getting files onto it.. (either using a windows share or FTP)

It dies with no apparent reason and or just stops responding to the FTP put... even though it's still running...

Looking for something unique I haven't tried...

PS.. I'm all for Cicso opensourcing the software.. FLASH is not a great platform... and if TWONKY could be upgraded that would be really good..

Hi burlybear23,

Was it working well before? Seems as if the 2TB WD EARS drives are not part of its hardware tested list. Have you also tried to reset the media hub?

Re: Trying to get files onto my mediahub

It was working fine before and after the upgrade.  It's just lately with a series of files from a machine that I previously moved about 300 gb from.. I've tried moving the files to another machine.. it's very odd... the FTP server will connect just not recieve any files.. if it does start it stops after  a random number of bytes 300kb or so...

the supported hardware list hasn't been updated in coming up 2 years.. Maybe Cisco should invest some time in it or admit they aren't going to do anymore with it and open source the firmware... I also find it odd that Cisco would say some drives will and won't work if it's a standard interface (which it has to be) there should be no reason a standard drive will not work.. I can understand speed and heat considerations  I can also see some interface variations between manufacturers but other then that it's support cop out or  faulty design or use of non-standard code... Since they use Linux underneath there is no reason to be using non-standard code or hardware interfacing..

However, Since Cicso themselves are selling the 2TB EARS and EADS  drives as an upgrade So I'm guessing they are  supported just not officially.

As the hub freezes from time to time.. usually when I'm pounding on it... either organizing files or have multiple things streaming.. So yes it has been reset..

Same problem here with 2x2TB EARS. I've got ~400GB free space and I cannot transfer my files.
Tried Teracopy, Filezilla, Total Commander.

Re: Trying to get files onto my mediahub

Kinda odd that both of you have the same kind of drives and are both experiencing the same issue when you fill up around  1.6Tb of the space in RAID mode. Could it be because the drives have the 4k sector size instead of the old 512 bytes?

Almost! :smileyvery-happy: I've managed to fill up my 4TB with 3.6TB data.
There are 1310 files on the drives, if that's any help.

Could be but I doubt it..

I'm not prevented from putting all files on the machine just some... I have 36k+ files on the drive(s)

But it seems to be a regular issue with FTP that it just goes to sleep..

Re: Trying to get files onto my mediah

I think I've found something. There are 668 files, 3,2TB in my videos directory. Could this be the problem? Is there a limit?

Re: Trying to get files onto my mediah

Same problem here, same drives, I'm at 3.7Tb in my videos directory with over 3000 files. Looks like something screwy going on with the amount we can store
