What I'm finding is that the current release of NM does not detect my AV or Firewall (Kaspersky Internet Security) on those PCs running Vista - but it does on the XP machines. Seems to be O/S-related. Waiting for an update...

I am currently running Avira Premium Security Suite on three computers on my network. Network Magic recognises it on two workstations but not on the third. I am getting the alert "Antivirus Is Not Installed". All workstations are updated to the same version of Avira and all workstations are running Vista Business SP2.
Any suggestions?

I just suppose that it's a way for them to get us to purchase their software !

No it does not function as an antivirus or antispyware program. Its a network monitoring tool. Will it lag your computer, will depend on the specs of your hardware.
