Enter Network Password

I have 4 computers on Network Magic 5.5.

Computer #1 is a Win 7 laptop; it can access folders from computers 3 & 4, but computer 2 asks for a Network Password.

Computer # 2 is a Vista laptop; it can access folders from all the other computers.

Computer # 3 is a Win 7 laptop; it can access folders from computer 4, computers 1 & 2 asks for a Network Password.

Computer # 4 is a Vista desktop; it can access folders from computers 1 & 3, but computer 2 asks for a Newtwork Password.

Home Network Specialist is of no help.

I've done everything I can think of and everything suggested. I've even assigned passwords, and removed them when nothing worked.

Has anyone had this problem and managed to fix it?

I really like the program and don't really want to return it, but it's a wast if it doesn't work the way it should.

Thanks

Re: Enter Network Password

From what you say, I seem to have a similar problem that Network Magic fails to solve.  Windows 7 machines, both 32 and 64 bit display this prompt window when I attempt to gain access to XP Home machines.  All machines are running Network Magic.  This immense annoyance existed from before I learned of Network Magic and continues to occur after installing it while attempting to see XP shares from Win 7 machines.  I'll not be buying Network Magic after the 7 day trial expires unless it proves to be able to solve this problem.   Great hopes not yet come to fruition.....NETWORK DOMAIN PASSWORD PROMPT.JPG

  1. Your Network Magic Version installed: 4.6.7324.0 --------- 5.5.9195.0-Pure0
  2. The type of connection to the Internet, like DSL, Cable, or Verizon FIOS Internet Connection. --------- Cable
  3. The Brand of Modem and its Model Number the router is connected to. ------ Issue wholly between local PCs
  4. The Brand, Model, Hardware Revision of your Router and include the Firmware Version: D-Link DI-624 Rev. C Firmware 2.70 --------- Netgear N600 Hardware Ver. = WNDR3700v2, Firmware Ver. V1.0.0.12
  5. The Method of connection your problem computer has to the Router: Wired or Wireless. --------- All Win 7 computers fail to interact with the XP machines correctly.  1 Win 7 32bit is wireless. 2 Win 7 64 bit are wired.  Both XP machines are wired 32bit.
  6. The Connection in use on the problem computer: Ethernet Port is a PCI Adapter Card, A D-Link DWL-G520 Rev. B ------- Different NICs in each machine, therefore issue is unlikely to be NIC dependent.  Will examine NICs if this goes anywhere with Tech Support upon their request.
  7. Operating system and version and Service Pack Level, if any. Ex. Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 1
  8. Software Firewall in use: McAfee Personal Firewall 9.0.136 Build --------- All machines have highest service packs and updates
  9. Also if any Anti-Virus Program or Spyware Program is actively protecting your computer. (Some Programs like Spybot does cause problems, not being able to go to specific sites.) --------- Norton Internet Security on Win 7 machines Microsoft Security Essentials on XP boxes.
  10. Include your location in the post or fill out your Profile for this forum and include the location. (Reason: Not all Routers from a given manufacturer are available everywhere.)
  11. Post the link to your Router Model, if an off-brand Router or not found in the USA on the Manufacturer's USA's Website. (Why? Posters helping each other, aren't working for Pure Networks or Network Magic, so make it easier on the posters helping on.)
  12. And any other information you think is important if answering your own post, and the nature of the problem, itself.
  13. By posting all this information, you can hopefully get help from someone that has the same equipment that you have and theirs is working. Not everyone has the same equipment.
