How to restore deleted device to network map?

In error I deleted a network device from Network Magic 5.5 Pro's network map. The device is online but of course is not now visible on the map. How can I get NM to recognise it again?

Many thanks in advance...

Hi marcoscu2,

Simply disable the Network Lock or Network Filter. Once done, it should reappear, once you use the device again.

Thanks for that but I can't see any sign of  Network Lock or Network Filter in NMPro's options. I must be missing them somehow. Can you tell me how to access them?

Re: How to restore deleted device to network map?

Hi, go to the tasks screen and click on Change Wireless Protection, you will see Network Lock settings there.
My Cisco Network Magic Configuration:
Router: D-Link WBR-2310 A1 FW:1.04, connected to Comcast High Speed Internet
Desktop, iMac: NM is on the Windows Partition, using Boot camp to access Windows, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit RTM, Broadcom Wireless N Card, McAfee Personal Firewall 2009,
Mac Partition of the iMac is using Mac OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard
Laptop: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, McAfee Personal Firewall 2008

Please note that though I am a beta tester for Network Magic, I am not a employee of Linksys/Cisco and am volunteering my time here to help other NM users.

Hi marcoscu,

Simple. Open Network Magic. Click the Status Tab.  Look under Wireless Protection and click Wireless Protection Settings. Two ways to get there. Status allows you to see its Status right away.

Re: How to restore deleted device to network map?

Thanks but I get 'Not Available' for both Wireless Security and Network Lock in that window. I think the best thing would just be to completely uninstall NM, clean the registry and then reinstall - and I'll take more carfe next time before deleting objects!

Thanks again.

Beware the word "simple" in technical situations. It will ensure that whatever is not "simple."
