Launch iPad, go to Settings, click on Network, turn on Wi-Fi and it should show your local network under choose a network, then click on it.  Clicking on the blue arrow will give your network IP address under DHCP settings router and all.

Hi, I'm having the same problem with my new iPad too! I'm sitting right next to my computer that has a secured wifi, and when I try to connect to my own wifi on my iPad, not only will it ask me for the password, but once I put it in, it says "Unable to join the network ".  If I hit the little blue arrow to the right of the "little lock", it has 3 options:

DHCP           BootP             Static

then the next set of options is the:   HTTP Proxy

Am I supposed to put my info in there? How do I know which option to use? DHCP, Static, HTTP Proxy... I don't even know what they mean!  If someone knows about this, please reply................and use "dummy" language, I'm not the most computer savvy (obviously :-)

Thanks!

What ype of security are you using with your router? Do you have a laptop or any other wireless device that is already connected to the network? No need to put any info for the DHCP and all those other stuff. If the your ipad will connect the router will automatically assign it an ip address.
