Re: Network Magic 5.5 and Transformer Prime tablet

You can try this steps. Maybe this will help you. Go to program files>purenetworks>network magic>support. Double click on serve me application. Right-click on the green Network Magic icon(w/c can now be found on your system tray) and select Stop NMService. Once you have done this, the SERVEME icon will turn red. Right-click on the Network Magic icon on the system tray and select Delete NetworkLib.xml. Rcight-click on the same icon and select "Force First Run". Restart the computer and this will restart the NM service.

Re: Network Magic 5.5 and Transformer Prime tablet

Jake -  I did as you suggested and it did not work. However, what it did do was loose all my settings that I had setup for my devices, ie: names & descriptions. As I stated earlier, NM will stay running if it is restarted after the tablet is on. For some reason, the tablet affects NM the first time it logs onto the network.

But, thanks for the help.

Re: Network Magic 5.5 and Transformer Prime tablet

I just got a TF300 and it has exactly the same problem: the Pure Networks service crashes as soon as the tablet logs in.

Is Cisco still supporting this software at all, or are we on the too-typical buy-and-abandon model? It appears that the forum attached to the newer Network Magic page is shut down, as is the direct customer service e-mail form. Unless they monitor this forum, I can't find any means of contact that's still valid. Anyone know how we might make Cisco aware of the problem so that hopefully they'll create a patch?

They know the problem! Not sure if they are working on a fix or even if they care.

Re: Network Magic 5.5 and Transformer Prime tablet

Are you experiencing this problem on all your computers. I've read somewhere that if you will have this type of problem and the concern has not been resolved then you can ask for a refund if it is still w/in 90 day from the date of purchase.

Re: Network Magic 5.5 and Transformer Prime tablet

The problem is in Network Magic Pro. It was designed to work with android 1.5 to 2.1.  at least, that is what was revealed to me by Tech Support when I called to complain that my HTC Evo 4g LTE, running android 4.0, was stopping the service platform from running. Their answer was we are not working on that software anymore. My 2010 Evo 4G, running android 2.3 never stopped the service, but it was never recognized my NM as being on the network.

My NM is useless. Everytime my cellphone wakes up, it kills the service platform.

Re: Network Magic 5.5 and Transformer Prime tablet

Typical. How many times have we seen this pattern? Small company develops useful high-quality software or technology. Big company wants the revenue. Small company gets greedy and sells out. Big company sucks profit from small company's success but eventually can't focus effort on this miniscule corner of its business, product languishes, user base diminishes, big company drops the product. Users who invested in the product left high and dry, no way to recover their losses. Everybody comes out wealthier...except the users.

@Jev99

Is there software out there with the same features? Do you have any information on NetGear ProSafe Wireless Management software?

Re: Network Magic 5.5 and Transformer Prime tablet

Hopefully they will still provide some updates for this so that your android tablet will be able to work with NM.
