Need help with Wireless Bridge WET610N

After setup the WET610N can connect to the internet through the wireless router, however none of the other computers on the network are visible and neither is the network printer. In addition the computer connected to the WET610N shows a network name different than the other computers. I've gone through the setup steps three times with the same results. The computer connected to the WET610N is running Windows 7 64 bit. Other computers on the network are running Windows Xp and Windows Vista 64 bit. The wireless router/modem is a Westell model 7500. Any suggestions on how to connect the WET610N to the LAN? - Thanks - Ron

With this: In addition the computer connected to the WET610N shows a network name different than the other computers, this might be the reason why some other computers are not visible to your network. By the way, how did you setup the WET610N - is it manually or using the setup cd? If it's using the setup cd, I suggest that you do it manually.

Re: Need help with Wireless Bridge WET610N

The wireless Ethernet Bridge and the wireless router should match in order for them to work properly.  You must first identify the following wireless settings of your router:

• Wireless Network Name (SSID)

• Wireless Security Mode (WPA/WPA2 Personal or WEP)

• Network Key or Passphrase

I've tried both manual and using the setup CD with the same results.

Make sure the Network Name (SSID) and the security settings match the name of your wireless network. I was able to check the Cisco site. Latest firmware for this model is 1.0.05. I suggest updating the firmware of that bridge first, reset and reconfigure.

To upgrade the firmware, you can refer to this article http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=1546a3110a444c46aa1e022b1bf0a930_17597.xml&pid=80&....

Re: Need help with Wireless Bridge WET610N

Firmware has been updated and the WET610N setup using the latest setup software. There is no change in its performance. The bridge is connected to a computer running Windows 7 64 bit. Using the bridge the computer connects to the wireless router and communicates with the internet. However, it does not 'see' the LAN printer or any other computer(Windows XP and Windows Vista). In addition, when the network is viewed by the computer it has a different name (Network 2) than the actual network.

Any ideas?

Hi rcsontag,

Connect that computer wired to the modem/router to isolate the issue and check if you can see devices connected to your network. If you can see other devices then we can say there’s an issue with the bridge. If we still can’t see other devices and we are already connected to the modem/router probably that’s something to do with the windows 7 64-bit pc. Then you can proceed to the next step. Just access the link below. :womantongue:
