Firmware Upgrade Trouble for WPSM54G

Here's my issue. I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and have not had any luck getting this to work.  It worked fine with XP but there's no going back for me.  I have read a bunch of posts on this and am trying to troubleshoot it but got hung up on trying to upgrade the firmware.

 

I can find the Print server web application by using the IP address when the print server is wireless but when I unplug it and plug it into the router I can not get the IP address to work. 

 

I am trying to do this so I can get the firmware upgrade button to work.  What am I doing wrong here?

Connect the print server to the router with the Ethernet cable. Power cycle the router and print server.

Try to ping the IP address of the print server. Open the setup page of the print server and upgrade the firmware of the print server.

After upgrading the firmware on your print server, it is recommended that you should reset it and reconfigure it.
