WPSM54g v1.1 - upgrade to firmware 1019 and system breaks

It is not functioning properly, becasue when I try using it from any computer (4) on the wireless system do I get the OS telling me that the printer is not connected despite the fact that I can ping it. 

Second, the reason the other person was discussing looking on the original CD was so that we could go back to an earlier version of the firmware as we both loaded the latest version (1019) which then broke the system.  We are both having trouble getting the previous versions of the firmware.  Would you be able to direct us to say, 1014 and 1017?  The former worked on my system and the latter is a newer one that might be worth trying.  Thank you for your time and effort in helping solve this, now extremely frustrating, situation.

The available firmware for WPSM54G on the linksys website is Ver.1019...For the older firmware you can try to Google around.

I have tried finding the older version and have not had any success.  Why can't Linksys make this available?

New Version may Not be any better.

If you are using version 2 setup wizard that may be the problem. 

You may want to try going back to the old version of the Linksys Setup Wizard V1 that came with your unit.

I tried using the new version (2) and it would not find my printer, Even when it worked fine.

I have hardware version 1.1 also.

The firmware v 1019 only corrected some wireless connection issues and V 1017 does not need to be updated, If you have no wireless connection problems, It may not fix them if you do.

I think that V 1019 makes things worse, Then needing a new setup Wizard is even worser, If that is a word.

Set things up manual and forget the Wizard , then things work fine.

I think V1017 firmware worked good and many people want to "Fix it until it is broke" , Bigger number may not be better.

Remove install wizard from your computer.

Download version 2.0 from download page.

Run setup computer.

Everything should be back to normal.

Thanks for the information, but I am not sure what you mean.  v1.1 is the hardware number.  1019 is the firmware.  I cannot get the printserver software running.  The setup wizard is v1.1.  I cannot find another version of the setup software.  If it is out there would you please provide me with a link or a method of finding it?  Thanks much.  This still might work someday.

The only software I find is the setup wizard v1.1 (just below the 1019 firmware download) dated 12/03/09.  This is the version that is not working on the system.  Thank you again for you suggestions.

I think that is the newest version of the Wizard, but when you run it installs Version 2 of the  Print server utility. Dec, 2009.

Just Right mouse click on the icon in the tool tray and do about and the version will be there. 2.0 is the one

that should have the win 7 drivers, 32 and 64bit, I am not sure, I have not tested it, but I can if needed.

The Firmware also says for V1.0 , not sure if it messes up 1.1 hardware or not, It could.

If you upgrade WPSM54G to F/W 1019, you also need to use the new driver(setup wizard),

 So uninstall the old one then install this one.

New F/W 1019 can't work with old driver(setup wizard).
