My friend has Comcast cable with a WRT54G router. His daughter lives right next door, about 150yds away, and she uses Dial-up because she can't afford the $45/mth for cable. I looked at the Range Expander and the HighGain Antennas but there is absolutely no mention of how much they will extend the range. So, will the above mentioned devices or some other device (reasonably priced) allow him to broadcast his signal 150yds?
well.....the range of the wrt54g is about 60-70 fts ... if u go for a range expander , u have to place it somewhere around 40 fts from the router and it can give u a further range of 40 fts...so , this option is eliminated
not quite sure about the range of the HGAs.....however , i doubt that it won't give u stable connection for 450 fts ( i.e 150 yrds ) ..
so, i would recommend u to go for a designed flat-panel or parabolic external antenna ( 5/6 dbi ) which can suffice your requirement...
