Router and Expander

I have a WRT160Nv3 router and a WRE54G expander.  I can't get the expander to link with the router.  I attempted to access the expander using my browser for the address of 192.168.1.240 but could not connect.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, the WRE54G syncs with a WRT54G router or a WAP54G access point only. Anyone else out there that tried this setup?
