There was no software in the box when I bought a WRE 54G. I am using the WiFi signal from another building. I am trying to strengthen the signal to the USB receiver antenna. Does this expander need software since it isn't connected to the computer? I don't understand most of the technical jargon in the on line directions.
You can manually set up your Range Extender even if you no longer have its installation CD. It is important to verify and retrieve the wireless settings of your wireless router to match it with your range extender’s settings:
• Wireless Network Name (SSID)
• Wireless Channel
• Wireless Security Mode (WPA/WPA2 Personal or WEP)
• Network Key or Passphrase
