I recently purchased this. I have an iMac and I was looking for a more powerful router to replace my exisiting linksys wrt160n v2 router to increase wireless speeds in the home. Initial Setup was easy through the disk. But the default setup does not take advantage of the 5ghz band. For that you have to go manually into advanced settings which I only found out after spending 1hour on the phone with Cisco. So much for an easy setup.
I tested t he speed of the router using speediest.net and it was easily double that of my original router. BUT, this thing doesn't work most of the time. Even when I have a single device on the network, the Internet connection keeps breaking off every few minutes. Whats even worse is that even when my ipad is right next to the router the internet signal breaks up. speedtest shows that the router is connected but no connection. i have to keep on toggling between the 5 and 2.4ghz networks a few times before i can get the internet restarted...for a few minutes! This happens on both bands and is even worse on the 5ghz band. My old router was slow but stable.

There are several reasons why you experience poor signal or connection. Your slow throughput wireless connection has a relation to the kind of setup that you have in your home or office. So, in order to get the good throughput you need to certain settings. Try to do the following steps:
So did you have electronic devices, including microwave ovens, baby monitors, and cordless phones nearer to the router. Since these electronic devices hamper Wi-Fi performance.
