well with telnet and serial port you are unable to use the VLAN and management capability. That's really worse. In our case we replaced the switch and after we create a new one the same problem restarts: we are unable to enter the web menu after entering the password. It is still stuck due to random characters on the screen (which lead to misinterpretion of the html code). Nothing works, also a power off/on doesn't work. It worked well with only one computer connected but hey we bought a managed switch ;-(
(Mod note: Edited for guideline compliance.)

After long last, I think I have figured out how to view the SRW series routers with IE8. First, you must use HTTPS, I have not been able to get it to work with HTTP. Second, log in. The bottom part never loads, and remains solid blue, mostly. If this happens, go to the IE8 menu "Internet Options" -> "Advanced" -> "Automatically recover from page layout errors with Compatibility Mode"... check/uncheck that. Click OK. Then press F5 and reload the page. It will probably still be solid blue. Now go back to the Advanced tab and recheck/uncheck the same setting. Click OK. Now click F5 and reload the page. It has a good chance of loading. If it doesn't, go back into the menu and toggle the checkmark again. I can usually get it to pop up after 1-3 toggles.
Note, this setting doesn't correct the problem. It's the act of pulling up the "Internet Options" menu, then toggling a setting, then closing it. That combined with HTTPS, somehow, gets the timing just right so the images finally load.
