CIT200 Will Not Find Skype

Hi. I have a CIT200 that worked yesterday with Windows Vista Home Premium. I've been using it for about six months with no problems (even with the hassle of changing the Vista settings after upgrading in March). After restarting the PC this morning (as I do every morning), the Linksys software will not find Skype (it gets "stuck" on "searching for SKYPE"), even though Skype is running. What I've tried so far is:
Uninstall and install the latest driver for the CIT200.
Verify Skype is working by calling through the PC.
Start the CIT200 after Skype starts.
Start the CIT200 before Skype. What is interesting here is that the Linksys software actually started Skype, but then could not find it.
Take a battery out of the handset and replace it.
In desperation, I re-registered the handset to the base. Although there were no problems with registering the handset, the software still could not find Skype.
Perform a virus and Spyware scan.
I did not knowingly make any changes to my PC or software since the CIT200 last worked yesterday. I am using the 3.8.2 driver for the CIT200 and Skype version 3.0.0.198.

Just a suggestion that fixed this kind of a problem I suffered with while using XP which I still use: Within the Skype window go to Tools>Options>Advanced and therein uncheck the box to start Skype when you start Windows. It seems the CIT200 driver will start Skype at the appropriate moment and make the connection you seek. Otherwise the startups seem to conflict with each other and s l o w things down considerably.

While I can't speak to CIT200 problems associated with Vista (XP here) I have found loading and connection problems are created when the Skype program is allowed to start when Windows starts. Through tools>options you should ensure Skype is not allowed to start automatically if you wish to have use of either Skype or your CIT200. Your observation that the CIT200 program loads and searches for Skype is correct and it will do the job of getting both to load and connect properly. After you start your PC and Vista boots up all programs you must "boot up" the Linksys CIT200 by clicking on the Linksys Icon. I do wish Linksys would update the program to allow "preferences".

I am having the same problem.
Although as advised I have unticked the "Start with Windows" Skype command I still have Cit200.exe program hang with the "Searching for Skype" message, even though seconds before it initiated Skype. When I look in the Task Manager i find that the CIT200.exe is not resonding.
 
I ahve tried turning off the firewall to no avail.
 
Does anyone have  fix for this problem?
 
 I am running Vista Business, Skype 3.5.0.239 and the CIT200.exe 3.8.2

It's not enough to uncheck the "Start with Windows" option in Skype; you have to reboot and then let the CIT200.exe startup process initiate a Skype launch. Then it works.

Unpin Linksys CIT200 from the start menu and do not permit Skype to start when Windows starts. Once the PC has booted then start Linksys CIT200 software. In other words do it manually. The Linksys software will launch Skype. Tedious I agree but it works.

I AM ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM
 
 
My OS  Windows Vista Home premium
CIT200  VER 3.8.2
SKYPE VER  3.8.0.139
 
I have unchecked the option  start skype when i start windows
 
Both CIT200 and Skype not in the start up program list
 
I have restarted the system
 
Manually started the CIT200 and it was starting the skype
 
Skype is running fine
 
But the CIT 200 is searching for skype and hangs
 
 
What can i do  .....But once it worked fine
But most of the time it hangs
 
I tried reinstalling the softwares and drivers again same prob
 
Pl help me out

i now re-feel your pain.  My phone no longer connects with the base.  I have tried everything i can think of.  I have gone into the the 'systems' menu and 'registered' the handset, but it fails every time.  when i manually start up the cit200.exe, I get an error message on my screnn saying "EAccessViloation".  When I run the Skype program itself there is no problem there.  The thing that makes me feel really old is that I had this some problem a year ago and fixed it, but my tired old brain can't remember how I did it.

Well, I got my old brain working and thried the folowing which worked.  I D/L the latest driver version of Cit200 from the link i will paste on below, then unistalled the version that was on my computer.  I reinstalled the new driver and then went into the skype program to allow the phone to be used by Skype.  I have no idea what caused it to quit working in the first place, but such is life.  Here's the link to the driver:
