Re: WRTP54G firmware upgrade user/pass

Hi. I had the same problem as you, only I -do- have vonage. I alled them up, and they told me the user name was: admin and the password is: admin. So...try that and see if it works.

Re: WRTP54G firmware upgrade user/pass

You need to first go into Administration tab and then click on restore factory defaults for both phone and router. After that, go to 192.168.15.1/update.html with "user" and "tivonpw". It should work. Check out this site... http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Hardware/Linksys/WRTP54G.

Re: WRTP54G firmware upgrade user/pass

I have typed user "Admin" and no password. That's great!

Re: WRTP54G firmware upgrade user/pass

All,

With WRTP54G, firmware 1.00.20,  what I have found is this:
  1. Log int the Linksys administration http://192.168.15.1
  2. THEN log into http://192.168.15.1/update.html
  3. Name and pass is "user" "user"

That is what worked on mine.  Go figure.

I have placed a request to Vonage for an updated bios firmware.

If anyone has one much later than 1.00.20, please reply with link.

Also:

  • Linksys does not post or provide firmware for this specific device
  • Vonage does not post firmware for easy download.

Regards,

Vincent

Re: WRTP54G firmware upgrade user/pass

Werthds, your advice worked for me, thanks!  Here is what I did

1) Log into router at address http://192.168.15.1 using your default admin user name and password (factory default is admin / admin)

2) Leave this browser window open and then open another new window and go to this address  http://192.168.15.1/update.html

3) Log in using username of Admin (capital A is important) and password of KB1kX0xt

Hey, I just figured this out -- login using your admin username and password, and while you're still logged in either open a new browser session or enter this URL into the address bar:

http://192.168.15.1/update.html

The username is user and the password is tivonpw

doing this will unlock the firmware upgrade link -- the trick is you have to already be loged into the router prior to accessing the update link...

now where can you get a good firmware replacement?
