EG1032 Gigabit Adapter

What is the time frame that driver software will be released to support Windows Vista for the EG1032 gigabit adapter? I run Vista Business 64bit edition and just purchased this card for this system to upgrade to gigabit speed..

I am curious as to the time frame since Vista has been out for quite a few months now yet there is no software supporting it. I am a huge Linksys fan and this is kind of disappointing that the hardware is not supported on this new OS yet. Please let me know.

The driver is accepted but will not work at all. Do any special adjustments need to be made in the properties of the nic? i.e. under the "Configure" button, and the Advanced tab?

try to use the update drivers software in the control panel  right click  ethernet Controller it will have update drivers software you will have to browse my computer for driver software  ( locate and install driver software manually) click on that,

then you have to use (let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer) click on that, then go to network adapters,  find realtek click on Realtek RTL8168/8111 or RTL8169/8110 click next  also you have to look at the network card there should be a chip on it should have RTL8169  or RTL8168

Using: Windows Vista Ultimate x64

Actually, I installed the EG1032 by using the "let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" and selected Realtek on the left and the Realtek RTL8168/8111 Gigabit Driver on the right and Windows Vista loaded the driver without having to download the driver from Linksys. Vista has both the PCI and PCI-E drivers built in.

For the EG1032 and EG1064 v2:

Vista x64 drivers work out of the box.

For XP and Server 2003 x64, you will need to edit the yk51x64.inf file.

In the "Windows Server 2003 (64-bit)" section (works with XP as well, since XP x64 is NT 5.2), add the following:

In the "DriverDisk = "Marvell Yukon Ethernet Controller Installation Disk"" section (and just about every section below that if you use different languages), add the following:

Yukon-1032.DeviceDesc = "Linksys EG1032 v2 Instant Gigabit Network Adapter"
Yukon-1064.DeviceDesc = "Linksys EG1064 v2 Instant Gigabit Network Adapter"

Save your changes and try installing again.

For the EG1032 v3, you will need Realtek RTL8169 drivers.

For Vista x64, do what Deviatefish did.

For XP and Server 2003 x64, open up the Netrtlx.inf file and make the following edits:

You will need to click "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" while installing the driver. Also, unlike the v2 mod, the v3 mod's name in Device Manager shows as a Realtek RTL8169/8169S. This is okay.

I've been following this thread and wanted to share my experience.

I just installed the EG1032 on my HP Pavilion d4790y running 32bit Vista Ultimate tonight.  All I did was install the card but couldn't find any drivers in Vista so I popped in the Linksys CD and pointed the update driver to the driver folder on the CD and Vista found the driver and installed it.  I'm running on it now.  It's apparently running with an old driver, version 5.620.1202.2004.

The above v3 directions didn't work for me.  I checked the device ID and noticed that the device instance ID didn't have "Linksys" at the end.

So I used "&SUBSYS_00241737" instead of "&SUBSYS_00241737Linksys" at the end of each line and it worked.
