I have what I think is going to be a full Gigabit set up at home. I realize the Gigabit set up wont help me much as far as online because of the restrictions on my Comcast issued cable modem, but the rest of my set up is all Gigabit. I have a Wireless N-Gigabit router (310N) I have a Gigabit Switch and have switched all my lines to Cat6e. I am hoping that this helps with everything. My next step is to upgrade the connector on my Laptop. My choices are the Expresscard Gigabit Adapter (EC1000) or the USB1000. One is a USB adapter and the other is a Expresscard adapter. Both are gigabit adapters but which one would work better? I know they both should be the same speed, but am I going to be limited with the USB one to the speed that a USB 2.0 connection can handle. Am I better off with the one that connects directly to the mother board like the EC1000. Any help would be greatful, Thanks.
