Firmware Upgrade Error - BEFSR41 V4.3

When trying to upgrade my BEFSR41 V4.3 router to firmware version 2.00.4 Build 5 from version 2.00.02, I receive the following error and the firmware is not upgraded.

 Warning ! Upgrade file pattern error.

The Firmware that you have downloaded is the correct firmware for your router...May be something went wrong while downloading the Firmware...Download the Firmware again...Click here and select v4.3 and download the firmware to your desktop...Also download the tftp.exe software...Once you have downloaded both the files, Double-click tftp.exe and gave it the "Server address" of 192.168.1.1, Password "admin" and browsed to the .bin file location pointed to the firmware and click Upgrade...This should work...Reset the router for 30 seconds and unplug it for 30 seconds again...Now re-configure your router...

Using tftp.exe to perfrom the upgrade instead of web interface did the trick. Must I really reset and reconfigure the router after performing the upgrade? Thanks.

Yes, after performing the firmware upgrade you must reset and re-configure the router...

I'm having the exact same problem. BEFSR41 V4.3 router to firmware version 2.00.4 Build 5 from version 2.00.02. I simply do not understand how the same company makes the hardware AND the software, and it does not consistantly work across all units of the same model. Looks like I've got to stick with the old firmware. Linksys should write their software good enough so that everyone with the same models has to click upload, and it does the rest. Some people don't have time to sit there and go through hours of trouble shooting and have computer science experience just to upgrade a damned router. Get your stuff together linksys! This is crap!
