Hello;
I have just changed from cable to DSL.
I have a LinkSys BEFSR41 router. I can't get my LinkSys BEFSR41 router to work with the DSL.
I have downloaded and installed the new firmware from this page:
http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/BEFSR41
I have followed the instructions on this page:
I have changed the information as instructed on the AT&T page:
I have: 1). changed the Internet connection type to PPPoE, 2). set the password to my.name@att.net, and 3). set the password to the Network Password given to me by AT&T.
The router works okay with Comcast cable. Does anybody see what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks.

what is the modem that AT&T page gave you?
some DSL modems are not simply modems but modem/router.
if ever your device is a modem/router, follow the instructions in this link, but instead of following the "For PPPoE Connection Setting" follow instead the "For Automatic Configuration – DHCP Setting"

troia;
Thanks for rresponding to my question. The AT&T modem that I have is not a modem/router combination. I bought it at the local AT&T store.
My LinkSys router does not have a"For Automatic Configuration – DHCP Setting" at the Setup > Basic Setup tab. It has a "Obtain an IP automatically" option instead.
I followed the instructions in the link you provided yesterday.
I am beginning to think I might need to go back and buy a modem/router combination from the AT&T store if I can't get my LinkSys to work.
Are there any more suggestions?
