Possible problem with a PLK300 AV Networking kit turning on a touch lamp

We have a few touch lamps (touch the base to turn on) that comes on all by themselves after I setup the PLK300 kit.  Is this a natural occurrence with a powerline networking kit?  Of is there a firmware update that solves this problem?  I know I didn't have this happen prior to setup.

OK, problem solved.  I simply plugged the lamp into a surge protector to buffer the signal from the powerline adapter.

Wow!  Thanks for the suggestion.  While I was waiting on hold for Cisco-Linksys Tech support, I browsed and found your solution.  Put a surge protector in the outlet where the lamp is plugged in and Viola!, problem solved.  Tech support didn't have a clue.
