QuickVPN - Failed to ping the remote VPN Router !

Hi,

I have a RV042 (VPN Router) and I get some problem to get it working properly using the QuickVPN client.

Here the Log of QuickVPN client.

I don't know how it's implemented, but if WuickVPN wait for a ping form my router, it's will never hapen. I never been able to ping my router ouside of my ISP network.

There is a way to disable this Ping process and continue with the VPN connection ??

Re: QuickVPN - Failed to ping the remote VPN Router !

QuickVPN tries to ping the router through the VPN tunnel to verify the connection. That should work regardless whether your ISP filters ICMP messages or not. As the tunnel is encrypted your ISP won't know what you do.

Please post the matching VPN log on the RV042. That should help to see how far you get.

Do you have any firewall running on the computer? I think some firewalls have trouble with ESP traffic.

What about the router to which the computer is connected? How is that configured?

Wow,

I didn't notice. The Windows Firewall was enable.

I disable it and it's working like a charm !

Now I have to get it work on Ubuntu.

I have spent countless hours trying to configure, re-configure etc...  I am running windows 7 home premium.  Firewall is on, IPSec service is ON, I have created firewall rules for QuickVPN etc...etc... Never connects, just keeps stating:  "The Remote Gateway is not responding.  Do you want to wait?"

Re: QuickVPN - Failed to ping the remote VPN Router !

I seem to be missing the problem to this question. The "Failed to ping remote VPN Router" is the message I receive and a previous post indicated the ping was though the tunnel. Ok if this is true, the the client key must be use at this point. If I rename the 'RVS4000_Admin.pem, I receive a message indicating their is not a admin pem file, but I have not receive this message if I rename the RVS4000_Client.pem file, I have the same errors. So the question is I export the RVS4000_Client.pem from the router and copied it to the QuickVPN Client file. Is this correct and if not what is the procedure. Thanks
