This worked for me after 48 hours of research.
Ver1 WRT120N
1-Unplug the router
2-plug in your pc in port 1
3-hold the reset button then power on, keep holding the reset button.
4- in your browser, enter the setup page"192.168.1.1"
Surprisingly the Firmware page came up for me.
Now you can let go of the reset.
NEXT STEP MIGHT BE TRICKY.
5-upgrade the firmware to the latest, Ver7 for me, then wait SOMETIMES THE BROWSER DOESN'T RESPOND SO I DID IT LIKE 4 TIMES, you might need to just wait, INTERNET EXPLORER WORKED BETTER THAN CHROME, RESPONDED FASTER,
and click reboot.
Router should reboot by itself, that's a good sign. 
5-enter the setuppage again "192.168.1.1"
Username: admin
Password: admin
You are in. WOHO!!!!
CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD, YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE USERNAME
DONE
