How is it Cisco... 'the standard' does not have a Linux driver?

I'm looking forward to returning this since it can't be used with ubuntu. And also never buying cisco or it's cheap sidekick linksys again. What a bust. ![]()

Go to Ralinktech dot com. They have the Linux drivers. Chipset is 2870. Make sure you get the USB driver. I believe the package is actually called rt3572sta. Installing is not terribly user friendly, but it works and I have successful connections with WPA2 security.

It seems that many of the drivers are buggy. It is also possible that Windows chose a driver that isn't correct. My first suggestion would be to go to device manager and find the device, right click and choose uninstall, reboot and try to install again. It is better to install the Linksys driver before you plug in the device. The driver install software should prompt you when to plug it. Do not let Windows choose a driver. If "install new hardware" opens, hit "cancel" and proceed with the Linksys installation. I actually run AE1000 cards on both Windows XP and Linux. I've had good luck so far. Hope this helps.

Oh really? which driver did you use because when I tried none of them would install apart from the vista one, and that couldnt start the device as it gave some driver error. For a list of all currently documented Broadcom chipsets with specifications, see Broadcom.
