AE2500

I just installed a new router E3200.... now to install compatible USB adapter (AE2500)..... problems.  The error is that the Cisco Connect software cannot find the USB adapter when I plug the AE2500 into any of the USB ports.  The target machine is a lenovo T61 with XP installed

I have sucessfully installed the AE2500 on an older machine lenovo R52 with XP , no problems, so not the adapter.

I downloaded more recent version of Cisco Connect v 1.0.03, still no luck on T61.

I also disabled firewall and virus protection, that did not help.

Other possibilities I can try?  I got the AE2500 for the T61, would like to get there.

You are able to install this adapter on older machine that means the adapter is working.

Open the Device manager on Lenovo T61. Connect the wireless adapter to the computer. See if you can notice any new device in the list when you connect the adapter to the computer.

If there is no change in the Device manager list then try connecting the adapter to another USB port on your computer.

Hi. why don't you check out the AE2500 FAQs, click here. If the adapter work with another computer then the adapter is working. Make sure as well that the port of your T61 is high powered 2.0 USB port.
