Hello,
I am having trouble establishing a connection over my WMP54G wireless adapter.
When veiwing available wireless networks ,my router shows full stength 4 bars. But when I choose my router it says unable to make a connection. When I try using the Linksys Wirelss Software it say unable to access.
I have other computers and laptops acessing my router wireless without a problem.
Security is set to WEP and I have double checked the passphrase.
The router and the problem computer are in the same room.
Ipconfig states Media Disconnected.
The Device Manager says working properly
Updated the driver still the same.
LAN connection works.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

The operating system on the computer is Windows XP.
Go to Start >> Control Panel >> Network connections >> Right click on wireless network connection and go to Properties.
At the top you will find the Wireless Networks tab. On that tab you will see a check box ' use windows to configure...'. Make sure that box is checked. On the same windows you will find the list of preferred networks. If your network is listed then highlight your network and click on Remove. Your wireless network will be removed from the preferred network list. Click OK.
Now right click on the wireless network connection and select ' View available wireless networks'. Select your network and try to connect to the wireless network.
It will ask you to enter the network key. You have WEP wireless security setup on the router. The WEP key will be 10 or 26 digit hexadecimal number. Enter the correct network key and it will connect to the wireless network.

Try to manually access your wireless computer to the router by entering ssid, wep key, and see what will happen
