Problem: Windows 7 WUSB600N Resume from Sleep

Hello.

When I resume from sleep, my WUSB600N fails to be recognized.  All other USB devices are recognized.  Using up to date chipset, and Windows 7 drivers for the WUSB600N.  Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 Rev 2.1.  Anyone else have the same issue?

What exactly happen when you resume the computer from sleep mode...?Once you resume the computer from sleep mode then, you need to connect the wireless network manually on your computer...It will not connect automatically.

When it wakes, my WUSB600N fails to be recognized.   Windows will say it has malfunctioned and I need to unplug it and replug it back in, then it works.  I have uninstalled and deleted the drivers, updated to the Linksys ones from here, and even re-initialized the USB hubs/controlers.  No other USB device does this.

Re: Problem: Windows 7 WUSB600N Resume from Sleep

I found the exact same thing which was before they came out with the Windows 7 drivers and support said it should be fixed once its released.  Well 3 days later when the driver came out it still did not fix the problem.  After another call to support all I got from them was that it is a new operating system and it will take a while to fix all all the issues with drivers; so they said just keep checking back for updates.  I wish I never would have bought LINKSYS and had gone with same brand I used prior, I thought I was buying into a quality product by a reputable company. I simply modified configurations to avoid going to SLEEP for now.

I have exactly the same problem too. Not only when it goes to sleep but often when it goes into screen lock. In most cases when I pull it out and put it into another USB port it immediately connect again, but other times I have to uninstall the driver reinstall it and reconfigure my wireless settings before it functions again. I als downloaded the Windows 7 drivers, but it didn't solve the problem.

Re: Problem: Windows 7 WUSB600N Resume from Sleep

Same issue and response from tech support, on a Dfi lp jr p45 t2rs running windows 7. Thier windows 7 driver was written using NDIS 5 standard and the current for windows 7 is NDIS 6.2. Ndis 6.2 is supposed to be backwards compatible but I bet it isn't 100%, and that is where the problem is. Hard to say whether its on Linksis/Cisco's end or Microsoft's. We should just wait for them to get it together and port it over to NDIS 6.2. I am  using the latest Ralink driver atm. It seems to work best out of the available choices, including the supposed win 7 driver posted here under support for the version 2 device.  Hope this helps :smileywink:

Same problem.  At first, Tech support told me to use Vista driver as it is more "stable."  Still had problem.  The next call, they told me it is a problem with my USB port and to call HP.  Everything else works fine when I use that port.  Any luck anyone?

In the end I returned it.  I am not impressed so far with the quality that is coming from linksys now.  I have gone and run some Cat 6e, but my search for a better adapter is still on.

Try changing the settings so the USB device isn't automatically shut off:

Double click the linksys icon in "Devices and Printers", then Hardware -> Properties -> Change Settings -> Power Management -> uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device"
